Are They Worth It?
Imagine getting a neatly packaged box every month: a new puzzle (maybe with an unusual design), a small accessory (mat, sorting tray), maybe some snack or tea. It’s like a curated puzzle surprise. That’s what subscription boxes offer.
Benefits: discovery of new designs/artists, trying puzzle types you wouldn’t otherwise pick, excitement of anticipation, value (sometimes the contents are more than what you’d pay assembling yourself).
Drawbacks: cost. In many cases the subscription price plus shipping/customs for India can make it expensive. Also, maybe you get styles you don’t like. Some boxes deliver more novelty than challenge or quality.
In India, several subscription services have emerged (not always puzzle-exclusive). Some international boxes ship here but with delays and higher cost. Some local shops might bundle puzzles monthly/seasonally.
For a puzzle lover, a subscription box can be worth it if you truly want variety and can handle cost. If what you prefer is premium quality, specific themes, etc., you may prefer buying selectively.
As subscription economy grows in India (snacks, cosmetics, books), puzzle boxes may become more common. If local producers pick up the idea, with local designs and lower cost, it could become attractive.
